Robert F. Kennedy served as a Senator for New York from 1965, until 1968 when he was assassinated. He was the 64th U.S. Attorney General serving under his brother, John F. Kennedy. He was the leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination for the election of 1968. He served as a Seaman Apprentice, and graduated from Harvard College and the University of Virginia School of Law. He had served as the campaign manager for his brother in the 1960 election. He left the Johnson administration to run for the U.S. senate after his brother was assassinated. After Kennedy beat out Eugene McCarthy for the presidential nomination, he was shot by Sirhan Sirhan, and passed away the next day.
